Controlling 4N35 optocoupler using a GPIO signal from PI 4 or Arduino

Controlling 4N35 optocoupler using a GPIO signal from Raspberry PI 4 or Arduino or any similar device which has General Purpose Input Output facilities (GPIO). Simple python script can be adjust for timing.

The 4N35 is an optocoupler for general purpose application. It consists of gallium arsenide infrared LED and a silicon NPN phototransistor. What an optocoupler does is to break the connection between signal source and signal receiver, so as to
stop electrical interference.
